Will Lime support build for HarmonyOS Next?

Will Lime support OpenHarmony build apps for and HarmonyOS Next currently developed on China by Huawei?

I am not sure that there is any sponsors for Chinese development so it is mostly up to user contribution, but Lime ( openfl ) should be usable on any android. I recently bought a replacement Honour device, which in UK seem to be not in the Mainstream mobile stores like Vodaphone is UK gov limiting them or…, and the screen again is already cracked, but quality of physical case aside they seem good value for money for us less able to buy Iphones, MagicOS seems powerful but kind of needy like windows trying to get users money for extras and extract data… I expect HarmonyOS are similar, but it would be good for OpenFL to address Chinese mobile market and I am sure the community welcomes contributors of OpenFL extensions for these ecosystems.

lime is just hardware/OS abstraction, android is one that openfl targets. Any phone/tablet specific aspects beyond or requiring special/new android will likely need user input?

To make it clear Haxe is a very powerful language with less limitations than many corporate ones and can be fast, but it is not sponsored by Google, Microsoft or Apple so if you have the talent / perseverance it can do what you need but if you don’t you may need to depend on a corporate language. OpenFL supports Android - for MagicOS and HamonyOS extras then that is really down to you or your sponsorship!
I think the openfl/lime community would welcome contributions and would try to help where they can. For instance we may not even have a harmonyOS device!

It would be really great to be able to generate content for all platforms, but it is a really huge and very expensive task… It needs to be very well planned. Specifically for HarmonyOS, I believe the system already supports Android apps (or this is close to being made available by Huawei).

Before Lime can support HarmonyOS, we need hxcpp to support it first. I tried searching the hxcpp repository, but I didn’t find anything related to HarmonyOS, so I don’t think hxcpp supports it yet.
