I have recently released a transpiler - which is a compiler that converts between languages, that competes directly with TypeScript. Instead you write in a language called Beads, and you can convert to AS3 code or Javascript. It uses a uniform graphics library, so you don’t need to learn CSS/HTML/JS at all, you stay entirely in a higher level language.
