I don’t think that any of the contributors to OpenFL or Lime are experienced with Harmony OS application development. Does Harmony OS support apps compiled with C++? I searched the hxcpp repository, and it does not appear that hxcpp supports Harmony OS yet. In that case, we would need to wait for hxcpp to support it first before we added a new target to OpenFL.

Interesting. HarmonyOS 1-4 supported Android apps. HarmonyOS 5 removed Android application support, although maybe still technically possible using 3rd party emulators (Harmony OS 5 - Applications).

It’ll be interesting to see if the non-Chinese market has the appetite for a device that doesn’t natively support mainstream applications. I used to have a Nokia Windows phone for work. I loved it, the Windows phone interface was actually great and the applications it had were some of my favourite. I’m not well known for my love of Windows either, so that’s saying something. But, it never gained traction as it never garnered mainstream application support.

Perhaps Huawei’s approach is to first establish market popularity as they have (bait), then implement their own thing (switch).

Time will tell I guess.
