I noticed some “lib” on the “git”, such as “box2d openfl”. Since the “bug” has been fixed, why not release it to “haxelib” as soon as possible?
Every developer has their reasons—you would have to create an issue on each Git repository to get a proper answer. As for me, I made the Glory library and I try to keep it updated on Haxelib as much as I can. It’s just an extra step of work that not everybody has the time for.
The box2d library has 792,474 downloads (as of writing) and sits in the top 15 Haxelib libraries.
A developer would be right to be cautious about releases, as it could potentially introduce an undiscovered bug into a lot of applications. How cautious they might be, really is up to the developer as they shoulder the responsibility when they provide a “release”, with the implication that it’s stable.
If you’d prefer not to wait though, you’re able to use the Git version or modify it yourself as it has a permissive MIT license.
If you’re able to put the library through its paces and constructively report any issues you find back to the developer, that helps the developer a lot.
